Fear God Only
And do not [for a moment] be
frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for
such [constancy and fearlessness] will be clear sign (proof and seal) to them
of [their impending] destruction; but [a sure token and evidence] of your
deliverance and salvation, and that from God. For you have been granted [the privilege] for Christ's sake not only to
believe ‑ adhere to, rely on and trust ‑ in Him but also to suffer
in His behalf. So you are engaged in the
same conflict which you saw me [wage] and which you now hear to be mine
[still]. Phil. 1:28‑30 Amp
The Lord of hosts, regard Him
as holy and honor His holy name [by regarding Him as your only hope of safety]
and let Him be your fear and let Him be your dread [lest you offend Him by your
fear of man and distrust of Him]. And He
shall be for a sanctuary ‑ a sacred and indestructible asylum [to those
who reverently fear and trust in Him]; but for a stone of stumbling and for a
rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a trap and for a snare to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem. Isaiah 8:13,14

Therefore thus says the Lord,
the Lord of hosts, O My people who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the
Assyrian, who will smite you with a rod and will lift up his staff against you,
as [the king of] Egypt did. For yet a
little while, and My indignation against you shall be accomplished, and My
anger shall be directed to destruction [of the Assyrian]. And the Lord of hosts shall stir up and
brandish a scourge against them as when He smote Midian at the rock of Oreb;
and as His rod was over the Red Sea, so shall He lift it up as He did in the
flight from Egypt. And it shall be in
that day that the burden of the Assyrian shall depart from off your shoulder,
and his yoke from off your neck. The
yoke shall be destroyed because of fatness [which prevents it from any longer
going around your neck]. Isaiah 10:24‑27

[Jeremiah said,] O Lord, You
know; [earnestly] remember me and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors;
take me not away [from joy or from life itself] in Your long‑suffering
[to my enemies]; know that for Your sake I suffer and bear reproach. Your words were found, and I ate them, and
Your word was to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by
Your name, O Lord, God of hosts. I sat
not in the assembly of those who make merry, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone
because Your [powerful] hand was upon me, for You have filled me with
indignation. Why is my pain perpetual,
and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, like waters that fail and
are uncertain? Therefore thus says the
Lord [to Jeremiah], If you return [give up this mistaken tone of distrust and
despair], then I will give you again a settled place of quiet and safety, and
you shall be My minister; and if you separate the precious from the vile
[cleansing your own heart from unworthy suspicions concerning God's
faithfulness], you shall be as My mouthpiece. [But do not yield to them.] Let
them return to you ‑ not you to the people. And I will make you to this people a fortified,
brazen wall. They will fight against
you, but they shall not prevail over you; for I am with you to save and deliver
you, says the Lord. And I will deliver
you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the palm of the
terrible and ruthless tyrants. Jeremiah

Then he said to me, This
[addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless
supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel,
saying, Not be might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a
symbol], says the Lord of hosts. For who
are you, O great mountain [of human obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who with Joshua had led the return of the exiles from
Babylon and was undertaking the rebuilding of the temple, before him] you shall
become a plain [a mere mole hill]! And
he shall bring forth the finishing gable stone [of the new temple] with loud
shoutings of the people, crying, Grace, grace to it! Zech. 4:6‑7 Amp
For God did not give us a
spirit of timidity ‑ of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning
fear ‑ but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of a calm
and well‑balanced mind and discipline and self‑control.

I sought (inquired for) for
the Lord, and required Him [of necessity, and on the authority of His Word],
and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
The Angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear Him ‑ who revere and worship Him with awe; and each
of them He delivers.
O fear the Lord, you His saints
‑ revere and worship Him! For
there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.
Come, you children, listen to
me; I will teach you to revere and worshipfully fear the Lord.
Many evils confront the
[consistently] righteous; but the Lord delivers him our of them all. Ps. 34:4,7,9,11,19 Amp
